How to play

Objective

Combine matching tiles on a grid to reach the 2048 tile.

Basic Rules

• The Moves: Swipe (or use arrow keys or WASD keys) up, down, left, or right to move tiles.
• Tile Generation: Every time you move, the selected number of new tiles appears in random empty spaces.

How Matching Works

• When you slide tiles in a direction, all tiles move as far as they can in that direction until they hit the edge or another tile.
• If two tiles with the same number collide during a move, they merge into one tile with double the value (e.g., 2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 4 = 8).
• A single tile can only merge once per move.

Winning and Losing

• Win: Create the 2048 tile (though you can keep playing to reach higher numbers like 4096 or 8192).
• Game Over: The board fills up completely with no empty spaces left, and no adjacent tiles can merge in any direction.
• Board Size: Choose 3×3, 4×4 (Classic), 5×5, 6×6, 7×7, or 8×8.
• New Tiles: Choose 1 (Classic), 2, 3, or 4 new tiles per move. Each board size and new-tile setup keeps its own best score.
